Terms & Conditions
The terms that govern hiring through Empress Home Care and joining our network of professionals.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a hiring request, applying for a role, or otherwise using the services of Empress Home Care ("Empress", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Services
Empress Home Care is a domestic staffing and recruitment agency that connects clients seeking household help with vetted, trained professionals — including maids, nannies, caregivers, cleaners, nursery teachers, landscapers and painters. We facilitate introductions, vetting and placement; we are not the direct employer of placed workers unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Client Obligations
- Provide accurate information about your household requirements, budget and expectations
- Treat placed workers with respect, fairness and dignity at all times
- Honour agreed working hours, pay rates and payment schedules
- Pay applicable placement fees as communicated before confirming a hire
- Notify Empress promptly of any concerns regarding a placement
4. Applicant & Worker Obligations
- Provide truthful, accurate information and genuine documents during the application process
- Attend scheduled interviews, training sessions and placements as agreed
- Perform assigned duties professionally, reliably and in accordance with the written contract
- Respect client households, property and confidentiality
- Report any workplace issues or safety concerns to Empress promptly
5. Fees & Payment
Client placement fees vary depending on the role, duration and live-in/live-out arrangement, and will be communicated clearly before a placement is confirmed. Empress does not charge any fee simply to submit a job application or be considered for a role. To formally join the Empress Home Care network as a registered worker, a registration fee applies; this will be clearly communicated during the application process before any payment is required.
6. Placement Guarantee
If a placement does not work out within the agreed trial period due to performance or fit, Empress will make reasonable efforts to provide a replacement candidate at no additional placement fee, subject to the client having complied with these Terms.
7. Termination of Placement
Either party may end a placement in accordance with the notice period stated in the individual employment contract signed at the time of placement. Empress should be notified of any termination so we can support a smooth transition.
8. Limitation of Liability
While Empress conducts thorough vetting, we cannot guarantee the ongoing conduct of any individual after placement. Empress's liability in connection with any placement is limited to the placement fee paid, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
9. Confidentiality
Both clients and workers agree to keep personal and household information encountered during a placement confidential, and not to disclose it to third parties except as required by law.
10. Dispute Resolution
We encourage clients and workers to raise concerns with our client care team first, so we can mediate a fair resolution. Unresolved disputes shall be handled in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
